Our partner

What’s the difference?

The Corning Community Food Pantry is a member agency of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. The Food BANK is a warehouse that acquires and stores millions of pounds of food and other products. Our Food PANTRY is one of 150 partner agencies throughout six counties to which the Food BANK distributes food.

Think of it this way: the Food Bank is the storehouse and Food Pantries are the arms that reach out to each community by providing food directly to the people in need. Watch this video to learn more.FBST_FlowOfFood

It’s good to belong

There are many benefits to Food Bank membership:

  • Helps us effectively leverage our resources by giving us access to wholesale and donated foods
  • Ensures adherence to strict food safety guidelines, accountability in record keeping and respectful service of clients
  • Qualifies us for grants that help cover the cost of food and other operational expenses

Did you know?

We are one of the busiest food pantries in the six county region served by the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, which includes Broome, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tompkins and Tioga counties. Our pantry is currently the number one agency in Steuben County in regards to number of people served and amount of food distributed. Last year, we served 15,869 individuals  and distributed 228,808 pounds of food! We are honored to be making an immense impact in our community and the Southern Tier.
